David Hasselhoff a.k.a. David Michael Hasselhoff is an American actor and singer. He mother, Dolores was a homemaker and father Joe Hasselhoff was a business executive. He spent his pre teen years in Jacksonville, Florida. David attended Christ the King Elementary School. He then joined St. Jude the Apostle and later Marist High School. David next enrolled in Lyons Township High School and graduated from the same. He next joined Bates College and Oakland University.

On the Soap Opera ‘The Young and the Restless’, David appeared as Dr. William Snapper Foster. He portrayed that character from 1975 to 1982. It was 1979 when David got a role in Starcrash. He was seen portraying Simon on the show. He next joined Knight Rider in 1982 as Michael Knight. David reprised the same role in Knight Rider 2000 and cameo in 2008’s Knight Rider (TV Movie).

In 1989, David Hasselhoff joined Baywatch. Series got cancelled after the first season only. Believing that Baywatch has the potential, he invested his own money to support the series and also served as the executive producer of the series. During its reincarnation, Baywatch proved very successful and ran for three consecutive seasons. Series was much popular throughout the world and was shown in over 140 countries. According to ‘Guinness Book of World Records’, it was the most watched TV show in world and received over 1.1 billion viewers.

During 1994, David Hasselhoff was inducted into the Lyons Township High School Hall of fame. In the very same year, he was offered a chance to perform a concert on pay-per view from Atlantic City. It was 1996, when David got a chance to star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the next year, he gave a duet performance with Asia’s Song bird Regine Velasquez and that song was used in the 1998 movie ‘Legacy’. It was 2000 when David made his Broadway debut by appearing in the title role of ‘Jekyll & Hyde’. He also played the title role in London performances of Chicago for three months.

In addition, he has also made several self-parodic appearances. In ‘The Spongebob SquarePants Movie, David played himself. In the movie ‘Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story’, he appeared as the Dodgeball coach. In 2004’s ‘Eurotrip’, he appeared in a fantasy sequence. On October 23, 2005, David presented a musical award with Gretel Killeen for the Australian Recording Industry Association. In January 2006, he appeared in a massive outdoor campaign. In late 2006, a musical band based on his life ‘David Hasselhoff: The Musical’ was opened in Australia. In September 2006, he gave a radio interview on ‘The Breakfast Show’ with Gerard Gilroy. In the summer of 2006, David co-judged on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, a show centering on America’s best amateur entertainers.

In 2007, an announcement made it known that David would be appearing in a television series pilot for E! named ‘Tales from the Hoff’. During 2008, David made a guest appearance on a Volkswagen commercial. In October 2008, he played vice president of America in the EA real time strategy video game Red Alert 3. In December 2008, he sang the National anthem at the NCAA Las Vegas Bowl.

David Hasselhoff owns a social media networking site ‘HoffSpace’. He married Catherine Hickland, an actress on March 24, 1984. They separated in 1989. He then married Pamela Bach, an actress, on December 9, 1989 and has two daughters, Taylor Ann Hasselhoff and Hayley Amber Hasselhoff with her. After the successful 16 years of their marriage, they decided to break their relation.

Role on ‘Knight Rider’

David Hasselhoff portrays the character of Michael Arthur Knight on ‘Knight Rider’. He’s the main protagonist of the show. Among his family members are Garthe Knight, evil twin brother; Jennifer Knight, sister; Wilton Knight, deceased father and Elizabeth Knight, his mother. His is best known for his appearance on Knight Rider and this role proved to be a turning point of his career.
