All did not go well for NBC’s new series Knight Rider Tv Show which is based on the hit series of the 1980’s with the same name. The series, which had been ordered for a full season was one of the most awaited shows for the fall. Although the show caught the fancy of many teenagers, the ratings soon started following a downward trend. Maybe the audiences were expecting something closer to the original series. I have seen the original series when I was a child and I must say that the series was outstanding. In its four year long run, it kept the audience glued to their television sets during the airing of its episodes.
I think that is why the producers have decided to kick up the level of the show and bring it closer to its roots. It seems that the show will now be focusing on the original storyline of a man fighting against everyday crime with his wonder car rather than going for higher goals of fighting terrorists. Perhaps that is the reason for Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison not returning in the rebooted version, although it has been reported that the firing of the trio had nothing to do with the actors but was done to give a new twist to the story. Well I can just hope that the new changes will help the series gain ground with the audiences. Lets all hope that this version of the story about a crime fighting car and its rider is able to restore the magic that original series created nearly twenty years back.
